Linda Velder Honored by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Historical Education

NEWELL, SD, April 27, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Linda Velder, Curator of the Newell Museum and Author for Leaning Into The Wind, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in historical education.
A dedicated educator, Linda Velder is defined by an overarching passion for history and genealogy. This drives her work as curator of the Newell Museum. She has kept up operations at this institution for the last 15 years, managing business, recording entries of displays, collecting archives, writing grants, promoting museum activities, and coordinating traveling displays. Known as a teacher and author, Ms. Velder publishes books through Leaning Into The Wind, a sole proprietorship, and tutors college students and presents lectures at classrooms.
Ms. Velder currently sits on the board of the Association of South Dakota Museums, and is affiliated with the Butte County Historical Society and the South Dakota State Historical Society. An active member of her community, she judges art and history contests at her local school and undertakes projects as an amateur archeologist. Ms. Velder plans to retire within the next five years while maintaining active involvement in the museum board.
