Jeanne M. Widing Helps Students Avoid Pitfalls and Achieve Their Goals
Jeanne M. Widing, M.Ed. attributes her success as a student assistance program coordinator to feedback from students and the instruction she receives from other professionals.
WESTERN SPRINGS, IL, March 17, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Jeanne M. Widing, M.Ed., a student assistance program coordinator for Lyons Township High School, has been named the 2010 Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in student assistance.
Jeanne M. Widing, M.Ed. decided to pursue a career in high school counseling after working as a teacher and learning about 'Operation Snowball,' an alcohol and other drug use prevention program focusing on leadership development to empower youth to lead drug-free lives. Ms. Widing, who created an Operation Snowball chapter in Western Springs, IL and now boasts 25 years of experience in the field of education, currently coordinates drug and alcohol prevention and intervention programs while counseling Lyons Township High School students and their families. She is proud of the school's many accomplished graduates. She hopes to continue to gain experience in the field and obtain Student Assistance Professional Certification.
Ms. Widing received a Master of Education from Northern Illinois University in 1993 and a Bachelor's Degree in History from DePauw University in 1985. She is a member of the IASAP, the American School Counselor Association and the American Counseling Association.
