Stanford Who's Who welcomes Robert E. Hall to the ranks of premier professionals as a result of his magnificent work in service of the environment.

PITTSBURGH, PA, April 22, 2010 /Stanford Who's Who/ -- Stanford Who's Who welcomes Robert E. Hall to the ranks of premier professionals as a result of his magnificent work in service of the environment. His incredible professional career is filled with accomplishment.

Mr. Hall, a Charter Member of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, retired from the EPA with over 38 years of experience. While at the EPA, he managed a group of approximately 25 engineers, chemists, and scientists who performed research on control of NOx, SOx, particulate matter, and air toxics from stationary combustion sources ranging from residential furnaces and wood stoves to coal-fired utility boilers and open burning of a variety of wastes, including household garbage and agricultural waste. Research was also performed on control of greenhouse gases, including CO2.

After retiring from the EPA Mr. Hall served as Interim Executive Director of the Air & Waste Management Association for six months while the Association searched for a permanent Executive Director. His term ran from August 2009 to January 2010.

Mr. Hall enjoys managing and working with people trained in technical areas. He has excelled at this for over 25 years. He attributes his success to avoiding micromanagement and allowing skilled personnel to make decisions. He provides direction but only steps in when guidance is needed.

During his educational career, Mr. Hall earned a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineering. In the time away from his busy schedule, Robert enjoys snow skiing.
