James E. Turner Honored by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Education Services
James E. Turner brings 31 years of experience in education to his tutoring duties at Barton Community College
FORT RILEY, KS, April 12, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --James E. Turner, Tutor in the Fort Riley Campus of Barton Community College, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education services.
With 31 years of experience in the field of education, James E. Turner specializes in teaching mathematics. He has been a tutor at Barton Community College since 2001. His responsibilities include tutoring military defendants and military retirees, assisting other tutors, and conducting in-car driving lessons at the Geary County Learning Center. Honored recently with the Make A Difference Award by Barton Community College and with an award by the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development, Mr. Turner attributes his success to his flexibility.
Mr. Turner received his bachelor's degree in elementary education in 1984 from Kansas State University and his bachelor's degree in history and political science in 1979 from Sterling College. He is a member of the College Reading & Learning Association. In his spare time, he volunteers with the Marshall County Railroad Historical Society. Mr. Turner is a member of the Manhattan Area Rail Joiners and an Operation Lifesaver presenter. Mr. Turner plans to continue tutoring and teaching, either in the classroom or online.
