Phenomenal Psychologist Earns Membership In The Prestigious Ranks Of Stanford Who's Who
Dr. Alan Crockford has received the recognition of Stanford Who's Who due to his exceptional effort in the Social Services industry.
WOLLONGONG, NSW, AUSTRALIA, May 15, 2010 /Stanford Who's Who/ -- Dr. Alan Crockford has received the recognition of Stanford Who's Who due to his exceptional effort in the Social Services industry. As a Psychologist for FCM Counselling for the past 6 years, Dr. Crockford has consistently displayed the passion, vision and dedication required to be among the best.
FCM Counselling was established in early 2004 when Dr. Crockford realized he needed a change from the constant angst of the Family Court environment. Considering that jobs were hard to come by in this disadvantaged community, especially for a male psychologist at 55 years of age, he decided to start his own private practice for the first time.
FCM Counselling is a family counseling group which provides a variety of services to assist families and individuals in need. They work with high conflict families on matters of mental health issues, anxiety, depression and anger management. The facility provides high quality and comprehensive family and individual therapy that is either free (Bulk billing through Medicare with GP or psychiatrist referral) or low cost. FCM has also developed a range of self help booklets that provide practical self help advice on how to manage conflict in relationships and a guide to the holistic treatment of anxiety and depression.
Dr. Crockford has exceptional expertise in the holistic treatment of anxiety and depression as well as working with high conflict families. He is currently in the process of being registered as a family dispute resolution practitioner. He previously did this work as an employee of the Family Court of Australia over a 14 year period and will now be able to do family dispute resolution work in private practice.
A great source of pride for Dr. Crockford has been the successful outcomes in treatment with families characterized by violence and abusive behavior. This led to an approach from the Corrective Services Department to accept ongoing treatment referrals of parolees and other offenders with a history of violent offending or domestic violence and/or have problems with mental health and drug dependency issues.
He attributes his success to the quality of the work he performs as well as word of mouth referrals and standard marketing. Also quite helpful is his low overheads to sustain an extremely low fee service that focuses on patients with multiple problems from disadvantaged and working class backgrounds rather than the usual middle class to upper class market, which is over serviced in this working class community.
During his educational career, he earned a Psychology degree from New England University and a Diploma in Counseling Psychology from Charles Stuart University. He also attained a Masters of Science Degree in Family Violence from Wollongong University, graduating with honors.
