BALGOWLAH, NSW, AUSTRALIA, June 26, 2010 /Stanford Who's Who/ -- Kiri Combi has been accepted among the ranks of leading professionals with Stanford Who's Who as a result of her extraordinary effort in the Education Industry and exceptional entrepreneurial spirit. As Founder and Director of ecopreschools she has consistently displayed the passion, vision and dedication necessary to be considered among the best.
Ecopreschools is an independently run Long Day Care center which provides a sustainable model of child care. The facility was designed and constructed to facilitate the teaching and learning of their unique ecopreschools Programming Model which partially utilizes The Department of Community Services NSW Curriculum Framework. Of great importance to the establishment and its founder is providing the best modern facilities for all the children in their care as well as giving these children experiences with nature.
Kiri developed the idea for ecopreschools while struggling to find the right childcare provider for her own two children. In 2003, before environmental sustainability was the buzzword it is today, Kiri set about establishing ecopreschools Seaforth as a pilot program with service practices designed around environmentally friendly principles that reflected Kiri's upbringing in semi-rural Western Australia.
Kiri is a true entrepreneur who saved up her start up capital while working her way through a Masters Degree in Teaching at Sydney University. The first location of ecopreschool in Seaforth opened its doors in 2004 and was successful enough to warrant the establishment of a permanent location. This second location, ecopreschools Balgowlah, opened in August 2007 allowed ecopreschools to expand and work with younger children and is now an established player in the local market.
She is currently in the process of starting up a new company called Combined Childcare, which combines sustainability with early learning. Representatives of Local Council and The University of NSW have expressed an interest in having the ecopreschools sustainable childcare model integrated into their own childcare centers.
Kiri attributes her success to having a rough start in life and persevering through her determination and the willingness to do whatever it takes at the time to achieve the goal, within the realm of what is ethical. She has been recognized both nationally and internationally for her excellence in leadership and her outstanding achievements. Kiri is a member of Childcare New South Wales and Sustainability Systems & Services.
