TAMPA, FL, July 26, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- DIG Coaching Practice presents "ADHD: Transitioning from High School to College" on Attention Talk Radio with host Jeff Copper and special guest Rachel Masson, director of admissions and alumnus at Landmark College. As an attention coach, Jeff often receives calls from frustrated parents whose high school honor student is on academic probation after just one semester at college. In this episode, Rachel shares her insight on how to help ADHD students as they transition from high school to college. In their discussion, Rachel and Jeff discuss ways in which parents can best prepare the student for this stage of life.
Landmark College is the first college designed exclusively for students diagnosed with learning disabilities or ADHD. Like many of its students, Rachel struggled with undiagnosed learning disabilities through elementary and junior high school. Upon graduation from high school, she found herself lacking the skills necessary to be successful in a traditional college setting. She was introduced to Landmark College by a family friend. While at Landmark, she developed strong writing and executive functioning skills. Following completion of her associate's degree, she transferred to the University of Massachusetts where she graduated with a bachelor's degree. Rachel returned to Landmark College nine years ago. Daily she works with students struggling to reach their potential and enjoys helping them reach their dreams. She often speaks on the topic of learning disabilities and the transition from high school to the college environment.
The program will be aired on Wednesday, August 3, 2011, at 8 pm EDT, on Attention Talk Radio, a live, interactive, Internet talk-radio show hosted each week by attention coach Jeff Copper.
