Nikkina M. Osei is determined to make a positive impact on children and families, especially those impacted by socioeconomic hardships

NEW HAVEN, CT, May 19, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Nikkina Osei, Licensed Clinical Social Worker at New Haven Public Schools, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in mental health counseling.

At New Haven Public Schools, Ms. Osei works as a school social worker. Equipped with 13 years of experience working with children and families in a variety of contexts, she counsels students to determine their mental health needs and the ways in which they can best access the educational opportunities available to them.

Ms. Osei, who belongs to NASW, became involved in her profession through her interest in sociology and history and found success with the support of her friends and family. Pursuing a master's degree in education at Columbia University's Summer Principal's Program to complement a master's degree in social work from The University of Chicago, she intends to continue her involvement with children and families, especially those impacted by socioeconomic hardships.
