Donna W. Post, Ed.D., Recognized for Contribution to Education
Dr. Donna Post is a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics
CROSSVILLE, AL, June 10, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Donna W. Post, Mathematics Coach for the DeKalb County Board of Education, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education.
Through her lifelong passion for mathematics, Dr. Post became involved in her current position. She utilizes her 36-year career in the field of education to train and mentor new teachers. As the mathematics coach for Crossville Elementary School, Dr. Post plans and implements the curriculum, works with gifted and intervention students, and instructs educators on the most efficient methods to teach objectives.
Dr. Post earned a Doctor of Education in 1984 from The University of Alabama. She belongs to the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and CLAS. Attributing her success to her hard work and determination, as well as her passion for education and mathematics, Dr. Post was named Outstanding Woman of the Year in 1985. Looking forward, Dr. Post hopes to venture into education consulting.
The teachers of DeKalb County School District exemplify high levels of dedication to their students, with some schools whose students mostly come from Hispanic cultures and are non-English speaking. By first grade, students are able to not only read, write and speak English, but also to excel in many other academic areas.
