Paul A. Bensur finds fulfillment in helping troubled pre-adolescents, adolescents and adults move on with their lives

MEADVILLE, PA, August 3, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Paul A. Bensur, Jr., Ph.D.-LPC, Licensed Counselor in private practice and owner of the Thunderbird Developmental Institute, the publication branch of his operations, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in mental health care.

A respected child/adolescent/adult counselor, Paul A. Bensur, Jr. has 19 years of experience in mental health care. He has spent most of these years working in various institutions and outpatient practices as he worked on the development of the Thunderbird Developmental Institute with his original treatment programs. In 2010 Dr. Bensur realized his dream and started his own private practice: Paul A. Bensur Jr. PhD-LPC. A licensed counselor, Dr. Bensur is sought to treat patients with mental illness and behavioral problems, as well as counsel pre-adolescents, adolescents and adults saddled with relationship and bipolar disorders. He derives deep personal satisfaction from helping people move on with their lives, and attributes his success in this endeavor to his dedication to helping others as taught to him by the many role models that he has encountered throughout his career.

Dr. Bensur received a Ph.D. in Psychology in 1996 from La Salle University, a master's degree in counseling/psychology in 1990 from Gannon University, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and General Science in 1986 also from Gannon University. In addition to his LPC designation, earned through the State of Pennsylvania, he holds a certification in secondary school counseling and is a qualified trauma and grief counselor and has experience with Post Traumatic Stress Disorders. He is also a certified teacher. His affiliations include the Pennsylvania Counseling Association, the American Counseling Association, The North American Hunter's Club, the Northwestern Sportsman Club, the National Rifle Association, and the Handy Man's Club of North America. He also participates in the American Cancer Society's yearly Walk/Run program and has donated his hair to Locks of Love and Beautiful Lengths for cancer patients four times. He donates blood to the American Red Cross and has pledged the six times per year donation for four years in a row and will continue this endeavor. He also donates time to various churches in his area to help out with cooking chores. Dr. Bensur looks forward to expanding his practice in the coming years.
